        Division 2 - Cardigan Res 1 v	2 Bargod Rangers

Cardigan were on the attack from the start, and were passing the ball well, however they did not manage to capitalise on their posession.

Bargod started to pick up their recent form just before half time. With Llew Jones coming close twice in the opening half. The second half saw Bargod continuing to pressure and were on the attack.

Harry Stephens recieved the ball on the edge of the box after some good work from Ben Partis and crossed low to the six yard line to Memo Dag who was well positioned at the front post and skillfully flicked the ball with his heel  passing the keeper - Goal!

The tempo of the game reached another level and with the heat it was a tough test for all players. Cardigan's goalkeeper punted a long ball to their striker over the Bargod defence, with Cefin Edwards and John Buck both caught out with the bounce which left Josh Partis exposed, Bargod's Keeper with only one option to come off his line and commit himself to the ball.

The striker managed to score and the challenge left the Bargod keeper with a yellow card.
With 25 minutes on the clock substitutes were made to keep the persuit   for the vital 2nd goal.

And with 10 minutes remaining the ball was struck by Phil Pocock on the edge of the 18yd box, drifting through the defence and ended with a deflection from Mathew Terry and Bargod had their 2nd goal. A bit lucky maybe but they all count, Terry in his first game back after returning from a stint in Greece.

It led to a tense final few minutes with both sides continuing to attack.
Rangers were a little unfortunate not to add a third in the final 5 minutes after good work down the right from Terry.

Although it was a battling performance from both teams, in a game that could have gone either way Bagod players Harri Stephens and Sam Skinner must be noted for their tireless work in the searing heat; the midfeild duo covering every inch of grass.

At the final whistle - Cardigan Res 1 v	2 Bargod Rangers - a great result away from home.

Many thanks to Joe Prentice of Bargod for the report. |
